We are saddened to report the passing of Chris Mullett on Friday, August 7, from complications arising from what was to be routine surgery,

Chris is well known to the trucking fraternity as the Managing Director and Publisher of the successful Power Torque magazine, which he founded with wife, Maree.

Chris wrote and reported on the automotive industry for over 30 years. He had worked in both specialist motoring and transport magazines, the Daily Mirror and Daily Telegraph. As the holder of a multi combination licence and with a strong background in vehicle engineering there’s nothing he liked more than to head onto the open road with a B-double.

Chris was always a support to my endeavours when breaking into trucking journlism, and was free in sharing his extensive knowledge with me.

Our thoughts go out to Maree and family on this saddest of occasions.

A service for Chris Mullett will be held at VMR Airlie Beach on Friday, August 14 at 2pm. The family are hoping to livestream the service, given restrictions on attendance due to COVID-19.

Those who may wish to attend are asked to first contact Maree at info@motoringmatters.com.au

Rest in Peace
