Traffic Changes in Cairns

As part of the Smithfield Bypass Project in Cairns, Main Roads Department advises members of North Queensland’s network of heavy vehicle operators of a traffic change.
This change will involve the closure and relocation of the Avondale Creek, Captain Cook Highway rest stop, located just south of the busy Smithfield roundabout.
This change is temporary and will be effective from 28 June 2020 until 30 November 2020 while the new rest stop is established.
