Till Hino’s brand-new purpose-built premises in Ballarat is defying the current economic conditions and Covid 19 according to dealer principal, Brad Till.

Hino Australia’s newest dealership is defying the current economic conditions - and Covid 19 - with the strong performance of the newly opened Ballarat branch of Till Hino in regional Victoria.

The third largest inland city in Australia, Ballarat, an hour or so north-west of Melbourne, represented an exciting opportunity for Hino, commented Mr Bill Gillespie, General Manager of Brand and Franchise Development for Hino Australia.

“Given the excellent results achieved in the Geelong market, Till Hino was the obvious choice to lead that expansion.”

Since their purchase of the Geelong dealership in 2017, Till Hino, led by dealer principal, Brad Till, has continually delivered an excellent experience for their customers. Their efforts were rewarded with the Regional Sales Excellence title at the 2020 Hino Dealer of the Year awards.

Till Hino’s brand-new and purpose-built premises in Ballarat opened on 2nd March, 2020 with Rob Angus moving from the Geelong dealership in the General Manager role.

The dealership launched an on-site service van in Ballarat two years ago to fulfil their customer needs. “Opening a sales branch is a natural progression from this,” said Brad Till.

Like all Hino dealers, Till Hino has adapted to the challenges of Covid19, offering their customers contactless servicing and increasing their already high hygiene standards, thus ensuring a smooth socially-distanced sales process.

While there was an initial quiet period in early March – no doubt shared by businesses Australia wide, Till Hino increased their marketing efforts, which resulted in the strongest ever sales month and second largest service month for the Geelong dealership. Similarly, sales and service bookings have been strong in Ballarat.

For Mr Till, the Ballarat branch is a natural extension of the ethos and culture that has serviced the dealership well in Geelong. He attributes the dealership’s involvement in the local community and sponsorships as key factors in Till Hino’s Success.
