Delays near Mingela

News

The Department of Transport and Main Roads has advised that road micro-surfacing works will commence on Saturday June 27 on the Flinders Highway, west of Mingela. Weather permitting, the work will be completed by July 1.

These works which will take place between 7am and 5pm will improve road safety and ride-ability for road users. Traffic may experience delays of up to 15 minutes during these works.

This is a busy route for heavy vehicles, and partial lane closures together with a reduced speed limit of 60km/hour will be in place throughout the works zone. Traffic controllers will be in place at both ends of the zone to assist in directing traffic safely through the roadworks.

A pilot vehicle will escort motorists through the works site.

Temporary traffic signals will also be in place at both ends of the work zone to ensure safe travel through the site outside of work hours.

All work is subject to construction progress and weather conditions. In the event of wet weather or unforeseen circumstances, this activity will be rescheduled for the next available shift. Road users are reminded to drive carefully through the roadwork zone, follow the direction of signage and traffic controllers, while adhering to the reduced speed limit.
